Hot, Humid madness

Well, have you ever noticed that we are never completely satisfied with the weather? In the winter, when it's minus 20 (if I was home, it would be minus 30) - we want summer to be here - but when it's summer time, it's too hot. Well, right now, sign me up for the debbie downer club! I can't stand my basement hell I call an apartment! I feel like I'm living in a potato cellar, geezus..

Okay, enough of that. I went surfing on Friday! Woo Hoo. this prairie kid is ADDICTED to the ocean. I thought my back (for those of you who have been living under a rock for the last 7 years, I have a bad back) wouldn't hold up under this sport - but it wasn't as bad as I thought! Sure I landed flat on the ocean bottom almost everytime I caught a wave - but the importance lies in the fact that I caught the effing wave! Hence the addiction. Maybe next time I'll work up to 3 foot waves haha..

Last thought, I'm having a nostalgic night tonight. I put in my old watchmen cd from over 10 years ago, and started looking through old high school year books. Maybe it was the E! True Hollywood story on the New Kids on the Block, I don't know but I felt the urge to take a trip in the time machine.. I was on the 10th page of my grade 12 edition (it's a pretty thin book) when I realized omg it's my 10 year reunion this weekend!
Ten years ago I graduated with 11 people in a little town in Saskatch. Most of us knew each other since Kindergarten - one of my classmates was my first cousin - typical saskatchewan upbringing. I can't believe I spent every day with those people for 13 years! I think it's amazing that you can meet so many people in your life - but when you look back on the friends you made when you were 3 years old (or 6months old) - you think - these people "post hometown" - how well do they really know me? Not to get all mushy on all y'all - but to give you an idea of how close these people are to my history -- 12 graduates. I've been their bridesmaid, maid of honour, MC of a wedding, usher for their funeral, and I can tell you the birthday of all of them..

What's with the rant you may be asking yourself? Maybe it was about time I shared a bit more about the past - instead of posting inside jokes about random weekends -

there's plenty more of those to come by the way...

But every good rock album has a ballad right ?
