Rantin' Rosie
Okay I think it's great when fellow gay people stick up for one another against homophobia. Now, that being said, I was watching the VIEW today because, hey why not - it winds me up for work - gets that edge going, and it's fun to mute the co-host who's opinion I don't want to hear. But on today's show - Rosie O'Donnell exemplified why some people believe gays are "too sensitive". She was talking about Kelly Ripa from LIVE with Regis and Kelly. Clay Aiken, the little gay boy from American Idol was playing Regis for the day. Kelly was interviewing the winners of some reality show, and when Clay couldn't get a word in edgewise, he put his hand over Kelly's mouth -- and Kelly freaked out! She was like, "uh uh, that's a no no - i don't know where that hand has been!" Rosie let her have it! She thought it was homophobic of her to say she didn't know where his hand was --- Calm down Rosie! Jeezus, Kelly even called the show and apologized if she came off that way, and Rosie didn't budge. What good is R.O. going to be to the gay community if she picks on what is perfectly good argument for germaphobes and makes her into a gay - hater! We need to pick our battles people, and a little hottie from Regis and Kelly is not a battle!! Tom Cruise getting married to Joey Potter to prove he's NOT gay, that's a battle!!
Okay onto an even more controversial topic. the weather. My friend, Jen, is freezing her ass off in the great white north of B.C. and I feel bad for her - but if this 17 above weather is an indicator of what's to come for a maritime winter -- bring it on! I witnessed a "santa parade" on Saturday night - and the elves were rollerblading... Climate change, global warming - yeah it's all bad, but those people who go on about the polution that creates it - are the same people who will be calling me to pick their asses up in my big gas guzzling SUV when the true season hits their sinuses!
